Modern world is embedded with blooming technologies. Even if we only focus on web tech, it’s vast! Including from Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Blogs, RSS readers, and more in itself is a spider web. Talking about social media, it plays huge role for me to stay in touch with my family who lives half way across the world. I remember the time when there wasn’t any such tech and it was hard to know their personal scenario. But evolving tech has changed the time. Therefore, today, getting connected through sites is a click away. But even with such a fast pace development I hardly knew anything about Twitter!

Yes! I don’t even remember having an account, which I’ve practically used. When social sites were blooming I had explored twitter with my friend Taylor, who insisted me to make one but tweets never seemed inviting. And when I came across Tweeter through Ed. Tech course, I actually understood the usage and functionality of this site— Last week, I was surprised when I got to learned about real purpose for tweeting, re-tweeting and sharing resource and how it’s supposed to be used with #hash-tags which led an interest to explore more. Thereafter, my misconception was clear when I found that it wasn’t only suppose to get connected with friends and family but helps to get connect with people of same interest. Also, how you can lay your opinions and views to make a point in the field. It is a live community where interested people discuss and help to act in the field via chat called TweetDeck.

No sooner when I found out about TweetDeck, I wonder what was this about now! Until we participated in live #saskedchat. Tweet deck is a fine organizer to have a live conversational discussion with people around the country. As we got a chance to connect to current educators, administrator via TweetDeck, it made chaotic chat into melody to read. Unlike other chat space, it keeps participant up-to-date to follow where the discussion was heading even though tweets popped up like balloons and at times felt as if running like an ant. Moreover, one could easily feel a part of it in-spite of numerable participants. I could easily read, like, re-tweet, and response to the questions asked. Furthermore, I could even utilized resources and implement guidance provided by experienced community members. Even in such haste, my opinions were respected and responded on time and that’s TweetDeck manageable benefit. I could also share my experience and suggestions with other associates. Getting a chance to participate is a first step towards Professional development.

Thus, these techs are a real gem, I felt like why wasn’t I utilizing Tweeter and TweetDeck to initiate connection with province or world educators. There is so much out in form of tech today that we can easily reach out to connect people of our community field. And Canada being a part of huge Teacher Federation Association, everyone should utilize the opportunity. Apart from that, Teachers can also utilize it in their schools and classrooms. With so many students willing to learn about tech today, this is a point to start with. Teachers cannot only share resources to each student of their class, but also make them involve in various discussions. Because of this study now I feel that high modern tech seems future of tomorrow thereby everyone should update himself or herself on web topics for personal, classroom or social usage.
